Listening Instructions

How to Listen Live

1. Before the program, review the Windows or Mac instructions below and take any steps necessary for your computer.

2. To listen live, browse to the Current Episode page between 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time on the program date. If you had this page open before the program start time, you will probably need to refresh the page before continuing.

3. Click on the 'Listen Now' button. Wait several seconds for your computer to load the program.

4. A pop-up message will let you know if you tried to access the live program a little too early. If this happens, don't worry - just close the pop-up, refresh the page, and click 'Listen Now' again.

How to Listen to an Archive

1. As with the live program, review the Windows or Mac instructions below and take any steps necessary for your computer.

2. To listen live, browse to the desired Archive page anytime after 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time on that Archive's date.

3. Click on the 'Listen Now' button. Wait several seconds for your computer to load the program.

Listening Instructions for Windows Users

Windows users will not need to install any additional software to listen to the webcast.

Windows Media Player may open in a large window, obscuring your view of the Web page. To re-size Windows Media Player, simply use the lower right corner of the player window as shown below.

Listening Instructions for Mac Users

To listen to the webcast, you will need to download and install a free Windows Media plugin.

You can download the plugin at: http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_download.htm. At the site, click on the Download Now button. Once the file has downloaded, double click on the file to open it.

Next, click on the Flip4Mac WMV installation package. Follow the instructions to install Flip4Mac.

Once the installation process is complete, restart your computer.

Now, when using the link to listen to the webcast, Quicktime will launch when clicking on the link. Click Play to begin listening.

Instructions for Downloading Archives

Each episode page has a Listen Now link for listening to the live or archived program. If the archived program is available, there is also a Download link. The downloadable program may be used to make a CD of the program for that day.

To download a program, right-click on the Download link and select Save Target or Save link as. Select a destination for the file. Once the download completes, you may listen to the program directly from your computer or create a CD of the program using most CD authoring software.

The downloadable archives are in mp3 format. Most computers come with software that will play them. One such program that is available for free is iTunes.
